The Keys to Enlightenment Program was first established under the name of the Christian Mystics and Metaphysicians Society in 1990 by Reverend Mary Saurer-Smith. The name was changed in 2009 when she married Tony Smith and he became a partner in the ministry. Following a lifetime of seeking direct enlightenment through spiritual devotion, meditation and prayer supplemented with self-help activities, study, and teaching spiritual principles, Mary felt a growing urge to establish a unique ministry of sharing not just the insights and revelations that came to her, but also the Path that took her steadily into ever deeper revelations. Tony is given below, and their story is found in Mary’s autobiography, Windows of Life and Death. Scroll down to read more about them. Scro

Reverend Tony Smith holds an MBA, is a teacher, minister and co-founder of the Keys to Enlightenment Program. He is also a Licensed Unity Teacher and a 12th Degree Rosicrucian. After a lifetime of seeking through various paths, he found his spiritual home in the Keys to Enlightenment Program, which was called the Society of Christian Mystics and Metaphysicians until 2009.
Through his own study and diligent application of the concepts to test their validity for himself, Tony's spiritual development was rapid and exciting as he progressed toward his experience of Nirvana. In November of 2008 his eyes were opened to see what had been in his life for so many years, and a changed sense of relativity to everything, including his spiritual teacher, Mary who was going through some life direction changes of her own. He leapt at the chance to claim her as his rightful partner in life. They were married in 2009, redesigned the program and changed the name of the ministry to the Keys to Enlightenment Program.
From very different backgrounds and life experiences, they share their combined spiritual knowledge and experiences with the members. Their hope is that the stories and revelations shared from their journey will inspire and encourage others to live the life they were created to live through daring to search, to think, to discover and explore their own Divinity Within.
Mary received her first spiritual revelation at age 3 followed by a transforming Spiritual Initiation at age 10. In her late 20s she had a Near-Death Experience (NDE) which was followed by an avalanche of spiritual insights and revelations that changed her life and her way of thinking. The next 20 years were spent in self-directed research and practice of various meditation techniques, comparison of world religions and other philosophies concerning God and the spiritual quest. In the meantime she was traveling the world as a military wife, experiencing other cultures and raising a family. She wanted nothing more than to use and teach the concepts that she received as revelations during her daily meditations. Then at age 39 she had an even more rapturous spiritual Initiation that filled in all the missing pieces along with a compulsion to share her experiences and what had been revealed to her. Eventually she selected a way to pursue the opportunity to earn credentials and experience as a spiritual teacher even though it limited her in what she could teach to the students of that religion. She spent the next 2 years attending classes and teaching at Unity Village, near Kansas City, MO while employed there as a daytime supervisor and trainer of employees in Silent Unity. For a period of 7 years, she taught classes at Unity Chapel and other nearby Unity churches in the evening. At the same time she studied and practiced private spiritual counseling and worked through a community helpline apart from the Unity Ministry. In 1989 life-changes occured for Mary. She left her employment with Unity and relocated to Tulsa, OK where she began her private ministry, continued with her work as a Unity teacher, and simultaneously took a job with Hospice of Green Country where she served in the roles of Bereavement Coordinator, Manager of the Chaplain Program and finally the Manager and Recruiter/Trainer for their volunteer program. She retired from hospice service in 2001 and from Unity service in 2004 in order to devote more time to her own ministry through counseling, writing, teaching local students and launching the online ministry.
In November of 2008 the trend of loving service to her mission opened led to the spiritual partner that she had been seeking for most of her life. A new chapter of her life began when an18 year friendship with her student, Tony Smith, suddenly ignited into a new kind of love for both of them. Their eyes were opened to see each other anew and they found the kind of romantic love that everyone dreams of but few ever experience past the honeymoon stage. In 2009 they began their journey together as equal partners in life, and renamed their ministry the Keys to Enlightenment Program. Tony serves the role of local teacher while Mary tends the online ministry, continues to write not only her books but all literature for the Program. She also serves as counselor to local and online members and as a consultant and collaborator with Tony.
Mary is the author of several published books, including her autobiography, Windows of Life and Death in which she shares her two Near Death Experiences and the story of her amazing adventure through escalating stages of enlightenment. In the Program she reveals her Path to you and invites you to follow.
