The Keys to Enlightenment Program was established in 1990 by Reverend Mary Saurer-Smith following a lifetime of spiritual devotion, self-help adventures, study, teaching spiritual principles and seeking direct enlightenment through prayer and meditation. Mary received her first spiritual revelation at age 3 followed by a transforming Spiritual Initiation at age 10. In her late 20s she had a Near-Death Experience (NDE) which was followed by an avalanche of spiritual insights and revelations that changed her life and her way of thinking. The next 20 years were spent in self-directed research and practice of various meditation techniques, comparison of world religions and other philosophies concerning God and the spiritual quest. In the meantime she was traveling the world as a military wife, experiencing other cultures and raising a family. She wanted nothing more than to use and teach the concepts that she received as revelations during her daily meditations. Then at age 39 she had an even more rapturous spiritual Initiation that filled in all the missing pieces along with a compulsion to share her experiences and what had been revealed to her. Eventually she selected a way to pursue the opportunity to earn credentials and experience as a spiritual teacher even though it limited her in what she could teach to the students of that religion. She spent the next 2 years attending classes and teaching at Unity Village, near Kansas City, MO, then an additional 5 years in service to that organization as a supervisor and trainer of employees in Silent Unity while teaching classes at Unity Chapel in the evening. At the same time she studied and practiced private spiritual counseling and worked on a helpline apart from the Unity Ministry. In 1989 Mary was guided to leave her employment with Unity and relocate to Tulsa, OK where she founded The Christian Mystics and Metaphysicians Society (CMMS). As the program evolved she changed its name to A Path to Higher Consciousness and finally to the Keys to Enlightenment Program.
Mary is the author of several published books, including her autobiography, Windows of Life and Death. As a result of her near-death-experiences, Mary's psychic abilities increased along with her joy in the spiritual life.
After years of employment in Hospice program management during the day, and serving her ministry at night, Mary retired in order to devote full time to her ministry and writing.
The door opened to life with a partner whose background, experiences and understanding were the same as her own, and she accepted that invitation. It was none other than Tony Smith, one who had been her student for 18 years. Their deep friendship and alliance had now developed into the kind of love that everyone dreams of and few ever experience for very long. A brief introduction to Tony is given below, and their story is found in Mary’s autobiography.
To offer a free spiritual program that teaches the revelations, and insights that we were given. We teach specific concepts and self-help skills that, when contemplated and followed, will lead practitioners through progressive increasing stages of direct Spiritual Enlightenment.
Reverend Tony Smith holds an MBA, is a Licensed Unity Teacher and a 12th Degree Rosicrucian. He is an ordained Minister and a teacher of the Keys to Enlightenment Program. After a lifetime of seeking through various paths, he found his spiritual home in the Keys to Enlightenment Program. Through his own study and diligent application of the concepts to test their validity for himself, Tony's spiritual development was rapid and exciting as he progressed toward his experience of Nirvana. In 2009 his eyes were opened to see what had been in his life for so many years, and a changed sense of relativity to everything, including his spiritual teacher. He leapt at the chance to claim her as his rightful partner in life. In 2009 Mary and Tony became equal partners in love, and in life.
From very different backgrounds and life experiences, they share their combined spiritual knowledge and experiences through this Keys to Enlightenment program. Their hope is that the stories and subjective revelations gained from their journey will inspire and encourage others to live the life they were created to live through discovery and exploration of their own Divinity Within.
