What IS Prayer Consciousness?

By teaching, praying, and being an example of what we teach, we not only inspire others; we escalate our own evolution of spiritual consciousness.  The result is increased spiritual happiness. 

Since I started teaching these concepts in 1990 I have used my personal experiences of prayer and meditation as the foundation for classes, and for my continued spiritual development.  Looking at ancient cultures around the world we can see that the urge to pray is an instinct of the human mind. That is because the Holy Spirit is within each of us, urging us to seek communion with our Source.  God is as God is; regardless of what name is given, regardless of what sacrifices and rituals are practiced or not practiced, and regardless of what concept one might hold of the definition and nature of God. God is the constant in our lives. Our concepts of God and our practices change as we evolve. Even the name we use for God might change, but God remains the same.

One of my objectives for this book is to expose you to an explanation of prayer that will increase your understanding and empower you to experience more effectiveness in your own prayer life.This study guide can be easily adapted to classroom teaching or to self-education if a teacher is not desired or not available.

The difference between persons who fear God and those who love God without fear is a personal consciousness of the eternal Presence of the Holy Spirit within themselves.  It includes a growing understanding that the nature of God and all the qualities of God are creative and constructive, and the growing realization that God is the Source of the Holy Spirit within. This means an increasing expansion of  prayer consciousness.

Certainly when we pray we want our prayers to be effective and not just a lot of words. It is through this assurance that our faith in prayer increases.  All it takes to assure that every prayer is effective is to acknowledge our awareness of the Presence that is always with us. This can be done by simply addressing that Divine Presence by the name that we use for God.  Yet there are degrees of effectiveness.  How can you be sure you are praying in the most effective way that is possible for you? 

First let’s look at seven important practices to develop as guidelines that lead toward a higher prayer consciousness and the most effective Prayer for you. 

The initial result of prayer is to place the praying person and the object of the prayer in the stream of Divine Order.
